One of my top goals is to provide all my students with quality education. I hope to effectively communicate to my students that they are valued members of society and possess potential beyond any self imposed limitations.
A sociology professor shared with me his story of where he started and where he is now. This professor was ranked number 217 out of 250-260 students when he was in high school. He was considered a student that would never be able to obtain success. However, today, he is a professor at Duke university and was even scouted by Princeton University.
The point of sharing that story was to show that it doesn't matter where a student begins. Society is so quick to judge students based on their talent, but, talent is only a piece of success. Effort is the key to life-long achievement.
